What will we produce?

We spoke about the inputs, now let’s talk about the outputs. The outputs are renewables as they are not produced from a finite source and as a result will attract greater value as society and governments push everyone towards a greener economy that is sustainable.
The primary output is Biogas and this can be fed directly into the network established by Gas Networks Ireland or transported to locations that will use the Biogas, from drying processes to acting as a source of renewable heat. When the Biogas is produced, it is also bound to other products which can be separated and sold separately as renewable commodities. An example here would be CO2 or carbon dioxide which is used in many industries such as carbonation in the drinks industry.

To complete the circular economy the plant will also produce a liquid rich fertiliser produced by a nutrient recovery system to efficiently utilise the fertiliser. The result is a sustainable locally produced fertiliser for farmers to grow the next crop for the plant.
