Who are we?

Currently we comprise of five individuals committed to creating a circular rural economy that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The objective of our first phase is to locate a suitable site, engage with the local community and deliver planning permission for a green biogas plant in the Swinford area. After phase one we are committed to creating a community based enterprise that will allow people to invest in the project if they wish or simply get involved in making it a success.

Gary Smyth

Gary Smyth operates pharmacies in Kiltimagh and Foxford and is passionate about local environment and supporting community initiatives that improve people’s quality of life in rural Ireland.

Michael Smyth

Michael Smyth is a solicitor and public representative based in Swinford and has worked on behalf of his community in helping deliver projects and enhancements to the local area.

Richard Kennedy

Richard Kennedy is the CEO of Devenish, an international Agri-technology company supplying quality animal feeds for the pig, poultry and ruminant sectors. He has extensive connections in the agri-food indus- try and lives locally in Aclare.

Pat Harte

Pat Harte (retired Mayo Footballer) brings expertise in having designed and delivered AD plants in Northern Ireland and the UK. Having recently delivered their first project in the Republic of Ireland he is committed to developing this technology to the benefit of communi- ties in the west of Ireland.

Paul Kingston

Paul Kingston provides engineering consultancy and asset management services primarily focusing on biogas and biomethane products.
